What do new iphone5 owners think of the Apple Maps replacing Google Maps

I used the new Apple maps app today to get to a funeral home and then the VFW for the luncheon in Cedar Rapids. Not a major metro by any means, but I'm not very familiar with CR and the app took us right to both spots, including routing us through an adjacent parking lot to get to the VFW. My wife was saying, "don't go that way!", but I trusted the app and it seems to be a better navigator than she is.

My experience (admittedly limited) has shown it to be reliable.

I have been out of the country for 2 weeks. All I can say is that South of the boarder (Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatamala, Panama, Columbia), the Apple maps are nearly useless compared to the Google Maps.

I was having difficulty on Sunday plotting a route between Boise, Idaho and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, until I realized i was misspelling Sioux. User error.
