well today , after a few days rain theres a bit of a break. thought i would try to tune my dish a bit more trying to achive the arc.

found a problem right off. i forgot to strap up the DiseQc switch , so with the little weather cap on it when it fell made it more like a cup or water catcher. the switch is about 1/4 full of water. so will switch out and weatherproof and strap down.

so good warning, no mater if its just a temp setup its best to take care of the equip , it might save a switch or two in the future.

i'm going to have to get a few more spares...

so far its mostly bad....well i know you all have been reading about all my problems. my system has never been 100% and lost a switch 2 weeks ago, my mount must be close to plumb but its just very slightly off. i will be redoing the pole & mount soon but in the meantime. it rained and like a stooge i didn't prepare the switches for wet weather. you know how much water a diseqc switch holds , a lot lol lol

well it actually worked for a bit but my channels kept going out and said no signal i knew it was the switch. that limits my 031 from Cir side ( i just ran the wire direct until i get a new switch. but today for some reason i can't see my TS sat or any sats west of it. but can see more sats to the east... now thats weird.

this could be an ongoing saga.....

well i took the back off the switch ... its a very sturdy looking switch from one of the gold sponsors. noticed it was still damp inside. cleaned the water off and let it dry. everything else looked ok. let it sit a couple of hours and dry out and noticed after removing the screws that there was a loose or broken connection on the main feed ( out to receiver) so i might be able to resolder it and try it again.
other than that it was a strong built switch. i can see where with proper installation this switch should last for years.
