I think even some of the subscribers that used to complain about VOOM are now beginning to miss those channels. All 15 VOOM channels should be restored.

I hope Chiller dies a quick death. Its a horrible channel. Hardly a replacement for Monsters.

I didn't say it was. I'm just explaining it to the person who didn't seem to get it.

BTW, if we still HAD Monsters, Chiller would be a good compliment. Censored, commercial ridden movies are worthless. But the series programming is great! Where else are you going to see Night Gallery, Hitchcock, ect.

There's nothing wrong with Chiller for what it's supposed to be. People are just slagging on it because DISH seems to think it's the same as Monsters.

I agree. Chiller is a nice ''addtion''. In no way does it or can it replace Monster.
Chiller is riddled with commercials and is SD.

That is why I feel Dish is trying to pull the wool over our eyes on this.
They replaced true HD, with, in my opinnion sub par programming.

I would have been fine with sci fi, usa and voom.

The rest they added in my opinnion is worthless.

Thanks for dropping by.

I see, its OK to post if you miss VOOM but those of us who don't mind and are waiting for HD channels "we've heard of" aren't invited to the party.

I see now. Yet another reason why I'm changing my VOOM opinion from "don't care" to "glad they're gone."

I ask my son the other day if he noticed anything different on his satellite (another high dollar subscriber), and he said he went to watch RUSH and it wasn't there and so he went to RAVE and no RAVE. He will never say anything about this, just another example of people missing VOOM.

No problem, I was wondering what was left about voom to talk about. I still see not much.
Tons, tons, tons to talk about. Not sure why those who have zero interest in Voom are following the saga, but I guess some like to keep up with stuff, and particularly if this situation will net them some other channel that they want. I guess I can hope that E*s battle with Fox will result in E* dropping the local Fox stations so that I can get some bandwidth for something else that I want.

Good point,

I think those non voom fans dont get it. Its not about you likeing or disliking voom its about what dish did.

I go back to point where if your favorites are HBO, suddenly they were removed.
Im sure you would be livid.

Thats where we are on this. Specialty HD programming which many of us came to dish for has been removed without our consent. They have inturn tried to fake us out with sub par substitues. This is deplorable.

Again whether you like a group of channels or not is a mute point.
What has been done here can happen ''again'' to anyone to ''any'' particular channels.

Let me know when HBO or Discovery show the same repeats from 2003 over and over again and then we can talk. Until then, both of those channels are producing new and exciting content, and get high percentages of viewers. Discovery is one of cable's higest rated networks. I'm sure even RAVE or MonstersHD probably weren't in the top 100. Thats the difference. This isn't a slippery slope arguement.

If there was stuff I watched that was very niche I would understand if a mainstream service provider (such as Dish) dropped it to make room for other, more mainstream content. The only people who can't seem to understand that are the VOOM apologistis who seem to think that watching the same concert from 2003, or the same snowboarding trip from 2001 is OK. (And, yes, that is what I thought of the VOOM channels)

That observation is relevant in a number of contexts. I won't go any further with it, though. :)

You are quite right: I was not a big watcher of VOOM but I liked "having it" and it's quite unpleasant to have your provider suddenly remove any channel that was offering HD content, let alone fifteen channels in one fell swoop. It makes you wonder what else is going on at Dish.

As to those who complain that the VOOM channels weren't offering much HD content and that was the reason Charlie cut them loose, even at their worst those channels were offering many times the HD content of BioHD, WFNHD, DisneyHD, BRAVO-HD etc. But the new channels will get better over time? So might have VOOM. Charlie's explanation simply doesn't wash.

I like to see whats going on from time to time, Mainly just to see all the adults Crying over tv. Thats the funny part.:river Entertainment at its best. :) But yet all of you are mad at dish, But still are customers.

Yes, Im still a customer. for now..

Again, I was trying to make a point about the take down of 15 channels.
HBO was just an example.

Lets just say, ''whatever'' channles you like...How about lifetime. Do you remember
when dish pulled them?

My point is..Nothing is safe.
