I'd rather not set up my DVR as the DMZ host if I don't have to... Are there any specific inbound ports that the VOD function on the HD-DVR needs? If so, which ones are they?

Nope no need to open ports or put in on a DMZ network. Do you have UPnP support/enabled on your router?

It's supported, but not enabled. I'll see if that works after I finish watching this movie... I just got a connection able to drive this thing properly, watch and download simultaneously, and I'm not about to troubleshoot when I can finally start using the damn thing.

Edit: It is awesome though. I'll be glad to finally stop the bitching from my friends about how they have on demand and I don't.

Special ports NO, but what is your accessible IP range and router rules regarding same? Are you using any hardware and/or software firewall?
