Vizio now out of the Plasma business too

If they are not making plasma anymore, would that be due to the price of LCD dropping or the demand in plasma is dropping?

Many plasma manufacturers have dropped off because of Panasonic's dominance of the market. Put simply, other companies either can't compete or can't make any money producing plasma.

Every time another manufacturer drops off people ask, ''what's wrong with plasma?'' The answer is nothing. As each manufacturer dropped off (starting with Sony) they started planting FUD in consumers minds by saying things like, ''LCD is quickly becoming superior to plasma.'' BULL. They can make more selling LCD.

Nearly every independant review website and magazine has found that, overall, the picture quality of a plasma is superior to lcd. Some lcds are better in some areas but not as a whole.

Now, LED based LCDs may be a different story...
