I have two VIP-211's. One has received the L345 update (the older one) and the other is still running L344. L345 has the HD stations mapped down to the channels (with the letters "HD" at the top of the screen where the channel info is and in the EPG) next to the corresponding SD channel along with being available at channel no. 9XXX.

It's a nice improvement though I'm wondering why they haven't updated all the VIP-211's.

Force it - you might have your autoupdate off.

I have auto update "on" and have tried both a soft and hard reset with no luck.

Also, I searched for a good explaination of a "hard reset". I am assuming that unplugging the receiver for about a minute is all theat is involved.

True?

Thanks!

Hope it helps out with the shutting off problem I've been having. Twice now I've had the thing shut off even though the timer was set and the inactivity timer is disabled. I'm getting tired of losing recordings.

On a 211? The VIP 211 is not a DVR.

Yhea i got my update also for my 211 L3.45 and like what i see so far the guide is set up nicely, having the HD in the guide is a good thing to have the wife never use to know what was HD and what was'nt

L345 "showed up" overnight on my 2nd VIP-211. Too bad it didn't include RSN's in HD (now that spring training is starting).:(

software update problems

i received the new update and like the fact that it shows an HD icon, but my chicago locals have now duplicated, so now i have nbc/abc/cbs/fox in the "6000" range and in the "002-00" range....that sucks, i only want one version. i now also have duplicates of hbohd, dschd, espnhd, etc etc.
is there any way to fix this without creating a custom channel list?
is this supposed to happen?

Issue with TP 30 Sat 129 with 345

I have two 211 receivers and both have the new software update. I like the new features but have one issue. When I select any of the six channels on TP 30(new MPG 4 encoders) instead a taking a couple of seconds to load the video, it takes about 12 seconds. All of the other channels work properly. I do not have this issue with my 622. Any one else have this problem?

DP44 switch 110,119,129,148

I also finally got L3.45 last night, have not noticed any longer delays on the MPEG4 channels, just tried NFL HD, about 1-2 seconds for audio/video to display, although I have noticed with the new software the OTA tuner seems to be working much better. I am getting solid reception on 2 locals that before would pixilate and show the yellow signal loss message before the update. Has anyone else seen better OTA performance after the update?

There's a place in the Locals section of the menu to turn off the mapping.

NO, in fact just the opposite. Three of my locals that used to have occasional signal loss are now just "Signal Lost" with occasional audio/video blips.

Hammer

I've noticed some stuttering with my ViP211 on both SD and HD channels that goes away if I force a reboot via the front panel. We were watching the Purdue - Michigan State game on CSTV last night and it looked like every 60th frame was dropped. I rebooted during a TV Timeout and the picture was fine afterwards. I've had the same thing happen on HDNet, too. This happened on both L344 and L345.

I do notice that with L345, my extended guide is off the bottom of my Toshiba's display, so in that regard, it's just like my 622 and the 942 before that.

And yes, I do notice a stronger signal quality on a few of my ATSC channels. Some that were coming in with a SQ of 80-90 are now in the low 90s.
