Video Game Deals

I might actually play an MGS game finally. Looks awesome. The others are throw aways, and I'm finding myself getting less and less excited about three-year old AAA games for the PS3.

Call of Juarez is actually a cool game if you have even a passing interest in westerns. I got it on Steam for like $2 and was really surprised how much I liked it. I'm not sure it's worth digging the PS3 back out for if you already replaced it with a PS4 though.

You gotta be kidding me.... Pool Nation FX on Xbox One is one of the June Games With Gold. That marks the third month straight for some shovelware no one wanted to begin with. Maybe if GwG had more offerings it wouldn't be as big of a deal but PS4 often gets 4, sometimes 5 free games every month due to cross buy. GwG gets one new one and a repeat every month.

Here is the full list...

Xbox One

Massive Chalice
Pool Nation FX

Xbox 360

Thief
Just Cause 2

Does GS give store credit as a gift card so it can be used online for digital purchases, or is store credit only usable in store?

You can buy anything they sell in the store with it. I traded in my 360 and most of my PS3 and 360 games when Gamestop was doing a double trade in credit promotion just before the PS4/Xbox One launch.

Anyways, during one of the Steam holiday sales I remember buying $100 in Steam wallet funds with some of that store credit. I'm sure you could do the same thing with PSN or Xbox Live store cards.

Edit: Your credit can be used on Gamestop's website too. Mine was tied to my Gamestop rewards card so I just entered that number to use the credit on their website.

If you're already positive you want to pre-order Fallout 4 even though the release YEAR hasn't been announced yet you can get 23% off at Green Man Gaming bringing the total down to $46.20.

Use the promo code: 23PERC-ENTOFF-48HOUR

Both Amazon and GMG have the release date listed as 2015. I know this is just a place holder but it still adds to that hope that I talked about earlier for Fallout 4 to be released this year.

Edit: Witcher 3 is also $36 if you create a free VIP account.
The Crew is $24.99
Project Cars is $34.99
Assassin's Creed Unity is $24.99

I think one of the conditions of the deal is that you need to be on the GMG Mailing list..at least that's according to Kinja, and when I tested it out without being on list it didn't work.

Fallout Franchise sale on Steam. Nothing really impressive though.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I got the GOTY editions of FO3 and New Vegas for about $5 each and that was probably a couple years ago. $12 for each of them is not the best deal at this point especially because Fallout 3 doesn't even work on Windows 7 or later out of the box. I loaded it up for the first time on PC last night so I have some recent experience with this.

It was a relatively simple process with a step by step guide pinned to the top of the Steam forum but I had to install 2 mods to disable GFWL and run an unofficial patch to make the game compatible with current versions of Windows. The other positive side effect of this is that the unofficial patch mod supposedly fixes 1000+ bugs that are still in the game with the latest Bethesda supplied patch.
