Video Game Deals

I'm annoyed that I picked up Typing of the Dead separately beforehand.. and likely for more than this whole bundle..

There is a special Humble Bundle right now to help someone from the video game industry pay for his cancer treatment. He is chairman of the Independent Games Festival so there are a lot of indie games throwing support into this. The original claim when this started today was that you would get at least 30 indie games if you donate $25. There are currently 32 games and soundtracks in the list but a bunch more are supposedly going to jump in between now and the deadline of March 21st.

As it currently stands I haven't heard of most of these games. I'm not ready to pull the trigger yet seeing as it costs $25. Still, I will be keeping a close eye on this between now and the deadline. $25 for 32 games is already a pretty awesome deal and I think it will probably get to 40+ games pretty easily between now and next Friday.

Crazy Taxi is free on iOS and Android for a limited time. The Android version seems to be off for the moment, but the old listing appears to be free. Search them in your appropriate app store.

I had some great times with that game on a friend's Dreamcast. I don't know if I will ever actually play it because I don't really like playing most games with a touch screen. Since it's free, it will definitely be going on the iPad though.

It also uses tilt controls. Game plays well, although the graphics have NOT aged well.

The added a few more games to the Gamefly PC sale. I just got Dead Island Riptide for $6.49.

Unfortunately the main Humble Bundle for the next two weeks just changed from android games to books. Between that and the Sega weekly bundle last week that's 3 bundles in a row I'm passing on. That's very rare for me. I have taken advantage of most of them since I built my PC. Hopefully the new Weekly bundle on Thursday changes that trend for me.

Yeah that's why I didn't bother posting this bundle. The only book I'd recommend reading is Mogworld, written by Yahtzee Croshaw (Zero Punctuation) but you have to pay more than the average of $10, and it costs $6.83 on Amazon right now. Seriously it is a very amusing book, as is the follow up "Jam."

Bioshock Infinite is also on sale for the ridiculously low price of $7.49. Probably no point in posting that one though. It has had so many great sales since release that everyone who wants it probably already has it.

Edit: You can get it bundled with the season pass for $24.99 too.

No doubt done in preparation of Burial At Sea Part 2, which releases the same day the sale expires. I recently reinstalled Infinite on my machine and am trying out part 1. Didn't get very far yet, but I am intrigued. It is interesting to see how Rapture might have been before it all went to hell, although I do find it odd that they felt the need to go back to Rapture as opposed to something new in Columbia. If nothing else they could have recycled some of the old art assets and character models and not need to create all new stuff, which likely contributed to the nearly 9 month gap between the two.

Looks like this week's Humble Weekly Bundle is Rhythm games..

A bit different, but the current Amazon Flash sale is a 240 GB SSD for $109 on Amazon. Hurry, this won't last long.

Also, in case you needed ANOTHER reason to regret getting an Xbox One on launch (or near then) you can now get a Titanfall Bundle for $450.

Wow! It's pretty rare to find deals like that on a new console this close to launch. That price with Titanfall packed in is a pretty awesome deal for new buyers when you consider that us early birds had to pay $50 more for the console plus another $60 for Titanfall. That's the price of being an early adopter.
