VICE TV Thoughts? ( H2 replacement)

Old white men need something to be angry about.. It seems like Viceland is working.

There are scary words on that channel like immigrants, gay, climate change, evolution, etc. How many of these so called bad reviews haven't even watched a minute of this channel but came across those scary words and based their opinion on that. Whatever. To each their own

I've found Vice's rise as a legitimate news organization interesting.. I think they've chose to cover marginalized subjects that other organization tend to shy away from. Their coverage of the Kurds and Syria in general as nothing short of spectacular. I also find the music coverage they do to be very unique. They do it in a market that's fairly saturated with coverage that thinks itself unique but rarely is. I'll admit that some of those show titles are downright stupid but at least it's not the vice of old. Now that was an entity that presented nothing of worth to humanity at large.

Vice is one of the top websites around. Their rise has been amazing and once Viceland finds its voice (like Esquire seems to have found now) it'll grow just as fast.

They need to have viewers and be able to sell ads to be successful

They do, I am a viewer. I don't know what their numbers are like, but I have only seen the responses from folks that are missing H2. It's really not a bad channel. And I see it lasting longer than most expectations once people forget about H2.

I guess you watched al jazeera america too..advertisers like people who have money to spend

I did watch AJA. Just not regularly. It was not a bad channel. And advertisers don't like people with money. They like people willing to spend money.

Had I not been watching the World AJA before they banned in the U.S. I might not of thought AJA America was all that bad. It was a shell of the original for me, but not a horrible way to see other news.

And advertisers don't like people with money. They like people willing to spend money.

That's a great line. ;)

I don't mind adding Vice but dropping H2 was a real loss. Besides we already have Logos, Esquire, FXX, Bravo, Spike, how many metrosexual channels do we need? I haven't had a chance to block the channel yet, but in a couple of days. If I didn't know better I would think 25 percent of all Americans are gay, when it is actually less than 5 percent, and many of those are over 50.

I like many others on this sight are not afraid of these words and I don't consider myself and angry white male. The words I don't like are GAYcation, Balls Deep, F!@#K this in my channel guide. It is like a bunch high school idiots got together and said what crazy names can we give our shows. You want a travel show, fine "Ellen Page Travels the Globe".

Like Mitch said above in different words if someone dropped in from Mars and watched TV he would think that half the population is gay, it seems every show now has one gay character and not part of the story, they just stick them in there. My wife and I watch TV and now wait for the token gay person to show up, even Marvels Agents of Shield introduced one.

Who knows, they may even start letting people of color on my TV!

Now there's a show I'd watch. Definitely mistitled.
That's Gaycation... It's not really Ellen page just traveling the world. It is Ellen Page and Ian something traveling popular destinations that were previously vacationed, and discovering how the homosexual life is lived. The premiere was in Japan and I learned quite a bit about the gay life style in Japan from it. They don't want the cookie cutter version. They are looking for the true facts of what day to day life is like, with advantages and disadvantages.
