I called Comcast last week as Verizon keeps stalling on selling FIOS on my
street - underground cables.
Comcast made a nice promo offer for Voice and Internet.
The install date was 11 August 2-5 PM. I took off from work (boss did not
like it) and was home by 12:30.
2PM comes - nothing - waited until 3:30P called 1800Comcast.
CSR could only tell me the the install was scheduled and the tech only had
one job, my install and went on to say they had until 5pm to make it.
5PM arrives and not a word, vmail, phone call etc are seen or heard.
At 5:40P guy in an unmarked truck shows up and tells me that the
tech never showed up.
Told him very calmly and politely that I had just canceled the service/install.
I will stay with Verizon DSL until we most likely move - retirement time.
Heard bad things above Comcast (similar to bad things about DTV and Verizon),
so why start a new saga of poor service.
