DENIED. BB would only do 1-every-2 upgrades, not annual upgrades.

Thus I get screwed out of the instant rebate, and I have to pay tax on $299 instead of $199.

I hate Verizon.

fixed for ya No I understand what you are saying.....its frustrating as why do rebates? why not just give the consumer that money right then and there...I have a corporate account so its hit or miss for me on instant rebates.

no. The guy at Best Buy wanted to sell it to me, VERIZON won't allow him to. So, I'll stick with my claim that I hate Verizon.

I can only marginally stomach Best Buy because it is really my only brick-and-mortar option.

I don't have class on Friday, so I can start my day trying to go get the phone. We'll see what happens. I might also go to the store this week and ask if they'll reserve one, but I seriously doubt that.

Multiple reviews would be cool.

I checked the Bestbuy eligibility tool and sure enough I am NOT eligible for annual upgrade; yet on Verizon's website I am. I guess according to that website, I should be calling customer support at VYZ and try to get them to confirm my eligibility? Its not altogether clear from the post on the other site what I would be asking them to do.

I'm still nervous about what they mean by "Reserved" at BB. Does that guarantee a phone on 11/6 or at "some point."

I'm looking forward to it, but the one thing I will miss is the free tethering I've had with my XV6800 I get prompted to join the tethering plan with the BT, but not via USB. Oh well, guess I need to sneak another $15 by the wife

$15? Ah, that's nothing to sneak by. I need to sneak by NBA League Pass. And if she ever actually looked at the Dish monthly statement. Yikes!

I doubt I'll be able to get it at BB, but am not worried. I'll get the phone, just a question of when.

I seriously doubt it! It's not iphone cultists, but Apple cultists. Apple could have made two tin cans with a string and put an Apple logo on it and people would have been lined up the day before to pay $500 if Steve said it was the most revolutionary invention to come along since Alexander Bell's creation. Nothing, I mean nothing will stop the Apple cult movement in this country. The ONLY way Verizon will ever duplicate that day when the iphone was introduced is when they have their own iphone contract with Apple. Then it will be competition with AT&T, not Apple.

I called my local verizon today and they are shooting for a 8 am open, but nothing set in stone, he said he wants to open even earlier...anyways I asked him if he had a number of units they were getting and he said all he can say is the first people in line are going to be happy, yet I am hearing each store is getting upwards of 100 units, so either this manager is trying to be savy and have lines out of his store, or he is just uninformed..but anyways looks like I will be at starbucks next to verizon at 7 in the morning on friday.

The iPhone is the first Apple product I've bought. Always viewed Apple products as overpriced. But I must admit, cost aside, the iPhone has exceeded my expectations. It comes in VERY handy.

I haven't joined a cult. But I must say, the liquid refreshment they served us, while a tad over sweet, was delicious! :lick

Few more days then the phone is out. I was reading the links stuart628 sent which had a few known limitations on one of them. Really nothing with them that really bugs me which is a good thing. I did see the GSM version has some additional features (nothing really major), but hopefully they bring the updates here. Installed Eclipse + the Android SDK... really want to do something with it. hehe.

I got to hold one of the new Droid Motorola Verizon phones today at lunch. Wow, all I hvae to say I think it's a horrible setup and designa and it's literally a box. I have no idea how well it will perform, but just flat out asthestics wise, for me anyways, I think it's horrible.

the whole 256 thing was proven to be false by the way, I think people are wanting info on this phone so bad that anything that pops up that could be true people publish it (engadget) and make others think its true.
