Sounds like they finally got all the mapping fixed. :)

Now question is, is VOOM ready to launch the new channels. I know some of them are ready but not sure about all of them.

Goaliebob, if your right, I think we all owe you a beer!

it is good news because earlyer in the week those transpoders were qpsk. you can not do 3hd channels with dd 5.1 audio on a qpsk transponder because its too much going through too little space.. so dish compresses these channels with 8psk to get the room needed to beable to do that. The channels on 129 that are in qpsk are 2 to a trasponder instead of 3. qpsk can handle 2 hd channels with dd 5.1 audio to a transponder with no problems. :)

its definatly one step closer to getting them. After all as scott said, "Rome was not built in one day" :) If it does become true this is definatly another thing that you can say you heard here first :) Its only speculation. but viewing from past experiances.... i say we got a 95% shot at it coming true.

Well, I think most of the D* subs might get a little jealous, and not pay up!

Would be awesome to have the new HD in time for the 4-day weekend!

Is ESPN2HD still only set for 129, or any new news on the possibility of it coming to 61.5 as well?

I can't wait...my HD receiver comes on Tuesday. Lets get those VOOM ch's up and running!!!!

Who actually thinks dish is gonna hand over 11 more voom channels for the same price ($5)? I mean, this is most all of the voom dbs service right? How much per month was that service? What price would you pay if the price was raised?

I'm guessing the HD pak might go up some next year after adding espn2-hd.

I dont know why E dont either kill or update the HD info channel...

Yes, they loop it in costco all the time, but talking about 'upgrading to the new 8psk adapter so you can get great networks like these (shows discovery hd theater) in the future'

I think it should be updated/killed, waste of B/W!

I remember from somewhere (cant remember where) that the voom package is going away and its gonna be all added to the hd package at no cost at the first of the year.. Im sure some one will find that link or correct me if im wrong.

In the EchoStar distribution deal, EchoStar subs who pay $9.99 a month for HD can gain access to 10 Voom channels for another $5. Next year, as EchoStar begins to deploy more advanced MPEG-4 boxes, Voom will cease to be an add-on, and all 21 Voom channels will be included in EchoStar's basic HD offering.

Nice find hdtv techno!! :)

Now the BIG question is are these channels going to be MPG4... ???? I have no way of telling that :).... enlight of what dish said this past monday one would be lead to belive that these channels would be infact MPEG2. And new hd channels after this would be MPG4.... The voom 21 + espn2+ HD DNS would keep me happy and content untill mpg4 is up to echostars pars.. by then we would should see a whole slue of new hd channels launched in mpg4.. and the reciver stock piles should be up to put them in existing coustomers homes and the encoders should be in place.. (6 months down the line in july)
