Hi all. My mother is a dish network subscriber and for many years now has been unable to get a signal on all local channels and a few other satellite channels during late spring, summer, and early fall. Basically when it's hot outside. Her dish is mounted in such a place that line of site is in the vacinity of a tree line, but she does get reception in the fall and winter months. Not all channels are affected though. She is using basic dish network receivers, no HD, no DVR. It's older equipment as well, more than 5 years I believe. Any ideas as to her problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'd suspect there's a significant difference in signal strength between summer when the trees are leafed out and winter when they are barren. Might need to relocate the dish. I had to move my wing dish a few years ago because of this and I figure I've another three or so years before I have to do it again.

Worth getting a 2nd hopper??
