Uncle Charlie :D this is how you can win me back

Well that's what I found on the internet. They are pretty close.

I thought I remembered asking why 121 and 105 were not used anymore. The response I got was that the Superdish was too big. I wonder why the Slimline works and the Superdish failed (from a customer acceptance standpoint)
Well from what I could read on the tape measure in the dark and rain, the superdish is approx. an inch larger in both directions. Pretty close, but it is SLIGHTLY bigger.

So, your HD RSN has HD games in its scheduled that are not broadcast in the Dish Network HD RSN channel ?

Yes, defintely. It happened several times this past summer with baseball games and it happened last week with a basketball game. Scott just mentioned it again on monday during th scottie chat.

It happens seemingly at random so perhaps it is happening with your hd rsn but you haven't noticed it?

Either that or like I said, consider yourself lucky.

So dish customers for those of us that may be riding the fence in 09 to maybe cross over to dish...Do you feel good about the future for dish services

Well, now that D* has hit pause and started to go in the tanker. Im seriously giving e* a look at being the provider of choice in the future. A few things are keeping me from switching back, so I'll give you an opportunity to address the isses that is keeping me from returning.

1. lack of full time RSNs.
2. Lack of MLB Extra Innings, and other sporting events (now might be the time to look at nascar hotpass)

Those are a few things that are dealbreakers right now. Im sure there are others that are out there, but those are the main ones, but in the mean time im watching..

MLB.TV is so much better.

I feel a lot better now the Ciel II made it up without a problem. I'd love more new HD and I'd love the ability to program my DVR over the internet, but those will both come along eventually.

MY guess would be atleast 95 HD channels with a Slimline vs 7 HD during the Era of the Superdish. Not to mention the HD that was and still is on the 110, That only required a Dish 500 to get. Maybe if E* had about 60 HD channels back then customers wouldn't mind the 3 Foot dish. But to go from a 22" dish to a 36" dish for the very Few HD channels back then ,I wouldn't want that big Ugly Superdish on my house either.

Yep and everyone wants their local team in hd, if they added them full time with the RSN alt's when needed, then nobody would be complaining as everyone would get their games.

On the superdish, I think the reason why its failed for e* was because it was mismanaged, and eventually became a pain in the butt. D* seems to be having much more success, and rainfade wise, I havent had an issue with the slimline, but then again D*'s ku/ka fleet is much more higher powered as the birds are pratically brand new.

I didnt look that close, like I said it was getting dark, and it was raining, but I dont think it was 3 foot. It was 32-33 inches at the most. Easy enough to hide, heck I hid two that size!!!! lol

Edit: I will remeasure tomorrow, but if I think it was 33 1/4 for the superdish, 32 3/4 for the slimline side to side. Best I remember it was 23 or so with the superdish being about the same difference bigger top to bottom.

I'm not sure since my friend had his taken down last year for the wing dish set up. They are close in Size from what I remember.

All I ment is for the right amount of HD ,I would put up with looking at a larger dish. Thats why I think D* Slimline works, and Superdish didn't. I never saw much of a difference VS what you get with a Superdish VS Dish 500.

I agree with that. At the time, the superdish was the only way to get locals for this area. That and the fact that we had the HUGE dishes for a while before we got dish. Yes, I had the smaller ones also, but they superdish didnt seem that big to me in comparison:up
