Trying out DirecTV, part deux

This is just a quick heads-up to others who might be having a related problem:

I have a set of IR headphones hooked up to my system; the headphones plug into a wall outlet for power. Using these phones before I got DirecTV was always a problem; there was lots of noise over the sound. I never thought to attribute this to the Dish Network 721 receiver - but after switching to a DirecTV R10, the noise is gone!

It's obvious *now* that the 721 was injecting noise into the power line, which my headphones didn't have any way of filtering out. Score one more point for DirecTV.

Did the E* receiver have an RF remote? Does the D* receiver? Because that will do it.

Not the remote

That's a good point, but the noise was constant, not just when a remote button was pressed. So I'm quite confident that it was the receiver itself causing the problem.
