Does the Family Package still include locals for $34.99 a month (plus the $15 receiver fee) as shown on the price increase thread? Is it still possible to get if one calls in (a dreaded experience)?
I am still under contract and am on the Select Package with locals. I wish there was a "locals only" package but as I am aware that does not exist. OTA is possible but difficult where I live and I have had very little luck with recorders.
The shows that I enjoy on the National "cable type" channels just cycle through the available seasons and it is getting to where I find very few that I have not seen and those channels make almost no new material anymore.
Thanks to all.

Also if you want diginets like bounce and get tv there not in the entertainment package you will need the choice package or above for those.

I know! It is ridiculous that they put the digi-nets in a higher priced package that includes the mandatory RSNs when those channels probably cost DTV little or nothing and can be found in other cities for free OTA.
When are we going to see some of the changes promised after the Disney outage in regards to smaller and more customizable packages?

i heard there coming out with new packages beginning of next year. all speculation right now!!! will be interesting. have you tried calling in and lowering your package and asking for any discounts. it looks like locals are included in the family package. though i would call in and make sure.

The El Paso locals all often pixilate during fast movement. Sadly, I am not surprised. I just turned them off on the web site. That at least saves $12 per month.
I may eventually look into an OTA solution. A greater selection of packages would be appreciated by many customers.

I have a question, why do so many DirecTV subscribers believe TPG will offer less expensive pricing?

They have been in charge for 3 years, in that time frame, at least 4 price increases, including 2 in 2023.

There has not been one sign they will do that, actually it looks like the same 1-2 price increases a year will continue, specially since they will be more in debt with the merger, with absorbing about $10 Billion of Dish’s debt, the $10 Billion debt DirecTV already has, the purchase price TPG agreed to pay AT&T over time, is $7.6 Billion.

So the newly merged company will be carrying, at least, $27B of debt, when it is that high, you need more revenue, lowering and offering less expensive options is not how companies do it.

Then the fact that less expensive options are already out there, only one (YTTV at $73) is doing well.
