Just had to replace my 622, and with the Ext HDD, moved all the recordings over to the HDD, switched it to the new 622, and now it's dropping some back onto the new 622 HDD!

The reason I had to get a new 622 was interesting. Sunday night came home and every show that I watched (whether off the DVR or live) had vertical lines running across the picture, about an inch apart (on a 60" screen). This was on the component output as well as the coax output. The lines would NOT appear on the program guides or DVR listing, but WOULD appear on the TV image/picture displayed in the corner of those guide pages. They would also change somewhat depending on the image onscreen (sometimes the line would have a break in it)...but they would always be there.

Interesting side effect of the new box...my signal strength is WAY better. Was only getting high 30s/low 40s on 129, and now getting in the 70s! The other two sats are up substantially too.

Also with the old box have been having periodic "check switch" messages, so it'll be interesting to see if that also stays away.

Both the old and new box are running 4.43 so that was all the same.

Are you sure the new box is at L4.43? Because 30s and 40s is the equivalent to 70s and 80s in the old signal meter.

Yeh, the software update had probably not dowloaded yet. To the OP, don't freak out when your signal goes down.

Well, I didn't check the version when I checked the signal...but later last night, I checked the signal again and it had dropped back down. The box was never off during that time to have downloaded 4.43., so not sure how it would have changed?

It probably did, but I thought the box had to be off to download the new OS?

New Season starting soon - any news on a OTA fix for 443

622 HDMI quit working overnight
