transferring programs on DVR's

I have upgraded a 501 receiver to 622 and was wondering if there is a simple way to transfer some recorded programs on the 501 to the 622?

There should be, but there's not.

Two things you could do to watch the recorded shows, although it is not an easy transfer, as you had asked for. First, you could hook up the 501 to a DVD recorder and burn the shows to DVD. Second, disconnect the satellite feed to your old receiver, but leave that receiver hooked up to your TV. You can then toggle back and forth on your TV's inputs and watch new content from your 622 and the old content off of your 501.

I appreciate the response, but the only problem with that is I have to return the 501 to Dish after my 622 is installed.

Does the Pocket-Dish work on the 501? Maybe you can borrow one and copy from the 501 to PD, and then PD to 622.

Just a thought, but I don't know anything about the PD.

DVD recorder seems like your best bet. They have come down in price and my experience is they are easy to use.

I have the earlier model (ES10) and it works very well. Until they come up with an extended memory for the 622 you might get good use from it. 30 hours of HD fills up very fast
