Just watched the ND-Michigan game and except for Coach Weis' torn MCL and ACL, things are looking GREAT!

Defense took away the ball 6 times from Michigan and Clausen showed glimpses of what Weis has been talking about for the past year; mind you, glimpses, but he is still young!

Can we run the table for the season finale against USC . . . ?

Don't get carried away. That was a pretty bad Michigan team you beat. You've got a loss coming your way on Oct 11, and I suspect many others along the way.

Time will tell . . . time will tell . . . and btw, I asked can we run the table . . . I did not say we will . . . sheesh, probably a waste of some good coffee!

I cannot wait now till October 11 to make a posting about a Green and Gold trouncing of some Carolina Blue!

M and USC could play some day, but not this year, USC took care of the Bucks , I would be curious to hear how well the current M team thinks they might do against them.

fwiw, I'm still not impressed with USC QB Sanchez. He had 3 TD passes , but the first one was a GREAT catch, the last one was his best pass of the night, other than that, he didn't do much other than hand the ball to the RB's.

No....Michigan state will beat the Irish...next week

Sorry Jimbo about the loss, but I have to disagree . . . Sanchez threw many balls for accuracy; yes he made mistakes, but that is because he is young . . . and anyway's, look at that backfield and running game . . . sheesh!

We got plenty lucky but you did see our O-line show a big improvement which has little to do with Dick Rods coaching. If we can manage to beat MSU then we may be able to run the table until USC because of our weak schedule.

This is a very bad MICHIGAN team, right now. I'll wait till the end of the season till I pass final judgement. But for now, it's pretty much what I expected, except for the defense which should be much better than they have played. New players at just about every position on offense, and the only one that fits right now is McGuffie. That kid is going to be a star. Lots of yardage with absolutely no help from the line. We'll survive, this is a project in progress. Rodriguez will need to time to shape this program to his mold. He gets a pass from me, at least for this season.

But shouldn't coaches get a pass the 1st 2 years.....1st year, brand new players and alot left from the previous regime and 2nd year, 1st year of MOST of the new coaches players that he wanted....?

I agree I still think they will be ok, watching them right now its like square pegs going into a circle when you look at the personel VS the type of offense.

The defense is the most disapointing thus far. I knew the o would struggle...but I did not think the D would be coming out like this

The game was just like the ND vs UM game last year except roles reversed. In no way am I saying that ND is BCS bound and god I hope they turn it down if offered. At best ND is a top 20 team and that is generous right now. The real test of what we have learned is against USC. Get some game experience, even if we lose then but are very close then I will be happy.

As for UM.... sloppy right now... in a few years I am sure Rich rod will be even more powerful than under the 3 previous coaches.

He will get the pass. MICHIGAN will not fire this guy after 2 seasons. He gets one yr. from me, because by next season the current players should have adapted and learned this system. If they haven't, what does that say about his coaching? The cupboard is not totally devoid of talent, this is still MICHIGAN! I'm not saying he has to win a national championship next season, but I expect him to be competitive for the BIG TEN title. (Not that hard a feat, considering how far down the BT is these days.) By his 4th or 5th season he should be ready for the national stage, with his players. After all he has a big edge over his days at WV, in that it's a lot easier to recruit for MICHIGAN.

GO BLUE!!!

If this were Lloyd Carr, his head would be impaled on a stick right now. I am willing to give Coach Rod a year since he doesn't have the players he needs for his system to work, but I personally think he is going to fail miserably since his program will take 3-4 years to bare fruit (recruiting, etc.) I certainly hope I am wrong, but I don't think this guy has what it takes to be a winner at Michigan...and I certainly don't wish to wait 3-4 to find out.:(
