If I got a duel tuner tivo, would it be able to display the digital channels in the program guide from my tv's cable card and record them. I'm not interested in the s3 just yet

Unless the tivo has a cable card slot itself.

The new Series 3 Tivo has a CableCard slot

Only way to get digital channels on the DT series 2 would be to hook up a cable box via IR ports. Second tuner wouldn't have digital.

To use the cable cards you would need the series 3.
