WTF! Can’t a guy be happy with his negotiation without being prodded into asking for even more!!!You should ask if you can get the Hopper Duo without the fee before the install.

Thanks. And the Wally is dual tuner now right?
No, you have to milk Dish for all they've got. Besides, with the Wally he'll have to pay the $40 DVR activation fee, with the Hopper Duo he doesn't.WTF! Can’t a guy be happy with his negotiation without being prodded into asking for even more!!!

In that case, never mind.I’ve already paid that on the account before. They said they won’t make me pay it again
I didn't necessarily take it that way. I saw it as a helpful suggestion in response to this:WTF! Can’t a guy be happy with his negotiation without being prodded into asking for even more!!!
With a Hopper Duo, you would still have access to EHD recordings from the H3 with a lower DVR fee. If you are fine with losing those recordings, then the Wally is a great option, too. Also, we had quite a few recordings on the H3 drive. Can I move those recordings to an EHD and then watch them on a Wally? If not, is there ANY no-fee receiver they can be watched on?
The guy in the "Hopper issue" thread could use that phone number you have.I didn't necessarily take it that way. I saw it as a helpful suggestion in response to this:

The Duo fee is $10 regular price. New customers get it for $5 per month for two years. So, I think the suggestion was to at least try to get the new customer pricing, if not getting the fee waived completely. Like I said, if you want to completely avoid the fee, I think you made a good choice with the Wally. They told me the Duo fee was $15
No "non-DVR" fee?Just in case anyone was wondering: the Wally carries no monthly fee if you use your own EHD and it is the only receiver on the account. Just as it has always been. I have an email from the CEO’s office confirming.
That was only for new subscribers signing up with a Wally for the first time. Apparently, that fee does not apply to existing subscribers who downgrade to a Wally. No "non-DVR" fee?
Thank you for verifying this. I knew that it didn’t sound right to pay $40.00 for Dvr software and add your own external hard drive and still have to pay $5.00 No Dvr fee too.Just in case anyone was wondering: the Wally carries no monthly fee if you use your own EHD and it is the only receiver on the account. I know that a portable USB 3.0 hard drive works just fine with my Wally. I do not know if the port itself is USB 3.0, though.Does the Wally have a USB 3.0 port?
