Most of Sprike TV's programs are in HD.
Nick has a lot of stuff in HD (I was watching the other night on DirecTV and was surprised how much was there)
MTV has some HD but not as much as I would like..
Havent seen any HD from VH1.
CMT has a few shows in HD.
BET is like BETJ no HD ever seen on this channel
Comedy Central is starting to show a lot of HD movies and a few shows.
(03) Jeremy K.: We tried to give our Customers all the above channels in High Definition from April 1st 2009.
ok ...
(03) Jeremy K.: However, the negotiation on the price did not match.
(03) Jeremy K.: We are still under negotiation to provide the lowest possible price on these channels to all our Customers so that it won't be an extra burden.
(03) Jeremy K.: We hope to reach and agreement for a fair price very soon.
Scott, I think you need to change your avatar back to the dangling HD carrot and the bunny....Most of Sprike TV's programs are in HD.

It's funny, because most of those channels show very little actual HD content, yet people are up-in-arms.
I don't understand.
No I don't think thats it.
I will be honest, I was alerted last week that there was a problem with on of the HD channels (BET HD) and was told that contractually they must launch them all together (which makes ZERO sense to me since they added BETJ by itself)
If you notice the info I posted about BET HD is still strange and has no virtual channel number.
My GUESS (and this is only my guess) is that BET HD is still having issues and was the cause of the delay.
I will also be honest and spoke with people at Dish who were waiting for the channels to come on. They told me they were just like us waiting for the uplink.
All signs point to technical trouble, and if it is then why can't they just come out and say it?
In the computer industry, Apple is the exception, not the rule. If you read engadget or gizmodo, you know that other company's are constantly previewing upcoming models and setting launch dates (which sometimes they meet, sometimes they don't). Same goes for cell phone companies, software companies, video game companies; see where I am going here...You know, calling in and flipping out about it will just cause Dish to never preannounce anything. This is precisely why most companies never announce anything until they're ready to launch (See Apple). People get their hopes up and then when something happens and there has to be a delay it's the end of the world. You'll notice that DirecTV didn't publicly announce anything and us DirecTV subscribers aren't flipping out about not getting any new national channels yesterday, even though there were rumors. Dish should temper expectations with words like "SHOULD" and "WE HOPE" when they are not 100% sure something is going to happen.

That's another thing I've said also... I do honestly think Dish leads customers on with their "soon" announcements but realize there will be times that there are issues beyond their control. Personally, I wouldn't announce anything until the contracts are signed and the channels are uplinked and tested and are ready to go in the next day or two. If people are so sad that they switch providers over and over just because one of them now has (2) more add'l HD channels, well, are those the type of customers you really want ?You know, calling in and flipping out about it will just cause Dish to never preannounce anything. This is precisely why most companies never announce anything until they're ready to launch (See Apple). However, provided that the new channels are put in the Turbo packages, these will be new channels for these people. Also, these additions might allow more people to reduce their bill and change to an HD only package.
I just don't see why Dish doesn't make some sort of statement....

How you feeling Rey?
He is going to be broke..
Only if Dish releases the 922... Rey can't give away what doesn't exist.
(That's it! Maybe Rey is auditioning for a position in Dish Marketing! )
Rey should've said:
"if E doesn't add HD tomorrow I will hand out a round of 922's, SOON."
My 722k arrived just the other day
He came to my home in the usual way
But Charlie had planes to catch and bills to pay
He promised HD so I signed away
And he was laughin' 'fore I knew it, and as I waited
He'd say "I'm gonna get you that HD, soon
You know I'm gonna get you that HD."
And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man on the moon
When's the HD comin', Charlie?
You said April 1, but I guess we'll get it soon
Just as always we'll get it soon.
I absolutely agree with you; Dish Network should not be announcing things, because it has shown itself incapable of meeting self-imposed deadlines; the incompetence is overwhelming. I am just pointing out that other tech industries do this commonly and meet their own deadlines and if not, provide a reason for it.There are plenty of companies that don't pre-announce. And a service industry is even more susceptible to the problem that is happening here. My point still stands that if people get up in arms about this, then Charlie Chats will go away and Dish will turn into just another company that doesn't announce anything until they happen. I mean, look at the DirecTV Tivo thing. People are flipping out because they haven't heard anything about it since it was announced. Long term this just pushes companies to clam up more and more.
i am extending the deadline to this Friday . which means i have to extend the offer till friday for more posters in this thread. yes, i know this move is getting me even more knee deep in s*** but i received a call from chuckles last night to give him more time. so you got till this friday chucky
