The AL West 2009

There's a rumble in the AL West, coming all the way from the coast of Orange County. 8 of 10 games....big guns back in the rotation...Big Daddy coming home soon....Chants of "Torii "emanating up and down the Coastline as a superstar makes his mark in the hearts of Californians.....A third baseman getting Figgy with it again....A SURPRISINGLY strong young kid playing first and a Journeyman minor league pitcher living The Rookie dream....can you feel it? From Riverside to Irvine, infiltrating even dark alleys of Dodgertown, halo-fever is building again....From tragedy springs a mighty lion....the Angels are back!!!!

I grew up in a family that had two old TV's we would stack up for every game night, one showing the Angels, one showing the Dodgers. My dad was the biggest fan of all of us, every night sitting next to his radio, listening to the play by pay, marching in to complain about how they blew another one.... he died two years before the 2002 season and neveer knew the team that would go on to win division title after division title..So, I gotta think he's sitting up there in heaven, living vicariously thru me and my own Halo family, cheering for the boys in red. There's just something about this game and in my most humble opinion, something about this team, who this year are fighting off the worst tragedy in franchise, maybe even BASEBALL, history, by honoring, remembering and playing on. GO ANGELS!!!

Great post. And as a baseball fan, I'm rooting for your Angels as much as I'm rooting for my own team (Indians). A truly somber story with the loss of Nick. You guys are wearing your heats on your sleeve and it's great to see the inspired play your bringing to the field night in and night out.

Now just remember, you now have your very own Angel looking down on your team from the heavens above.

Go Angels! Win for Nick!

Glad to see things have gotten better.

Not just the Angels, but don't forget the Ducks' inspiring playoff run

Once the Ducks got in the playoffs , you had to know they would be a tough out.
They are experienced and know what it takes to get there.

This is why it was such a great series, both teams have been there before and know what is necessary.

LACKEY TOSSED AFTER TWO PITCHES ON HIS RETURN!!!! He threw one pitch behind Kinsler and then hit him in the ribs and was tossed! Mike tried to argue that it was John's 1st game of the year and was excited and off his mark.

THIS IS DEVASTATING TO THE ANGELS. AND A COMPLETE BULLS^%T CALL BY THE UMP!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Yikes. That was a ballsy call from that ump!

Why ANYONE would think that your staff ACE pitching in his first game of the season on May 16th would INTENTIONALLY do that is beyond me!

I would have forfeited the game in protest. WTF..we lost anyway. :mad:

As you can tell, boys, I am BOILING F'ing MAD over this.

Happy Anniversary, KCK!

While today's Halos game did not go as KCK was hoping for, today is a significant day for him on this site.

It was one year ago today he made his first post on this site!

KCK is one of this site's top baseball posters, as well as a guy who cares about the Ducks (though I don't understand his issues with Pronger- he was a reason they won the Cup)

His signature for a while was "Life's like a roller coaster," and it's been like that for him- great highs (Last year's Halos, this year's Ducks in the playoffs) and horrible lows (the unfortunate passing of Nick Adenhart).

All in all, he rolls with the punches like a trooper. One of this site's better members.

If he didn't do it intentionally, then he needs to go back to rehab starts as those two pitches weren't anywhere NEAR the plate. The ump did the right thing. Throwing behind a batter's back usually signals intent.

Go AL West 1st place RANGERS!!

Why? Why? On the first two pitches of your first start back when so much is riding on you? You cannot and I will not believe it to have been intentional. And yes...his first two pitches could have been off that much with so much going on inside of his head. It could happen to anyone.

Think about this...if anyone is smart (and John is no dummy at all!) they would not intentionally do something the first pitch of the first batter of a game!!! Come on. A little reasoning here, please??????

Well, I wanted someone to come and challenge the Angels in this weak division...and it looks like there is now a bitter, BITTER rivalry brewing between the Angels & Rangers. It could be as bad as the old days against the A's.

Will the benches and bullpens clear today?

We shall see!:yes

Lucky you!!!...You've won the "Sabres Good Seal of Housekeeping Award"!!!...
That'll look good on your resume!!!...

Think about the series between the Angels and Rangers back in August 2006 and you tell me if what the ump did yesterday was still uncalled for... Plus think of what happened to Kinsler when we played the ChiSox last week....

Besides, if the shoe were on the other foot, and Padilla did the same thing to your leadoff hitter, wouldn't you be agreeing with the ump then?
