The 101,110, 119 W satellites

I know next to nothing about FTA. I picked up a directv 3 LNB dish and just wondering what I can do with it . I know that if I had a directv receiver and a contract with Directv I could get all theeir jazz including HD. How about FTA is there of this on the three satilites? Will this dish pick up any other satellites? What FTA receiver would I need to use this dish? Would appreciate some feed back. As you see I am in the dark here so please not to much technical jargon.

I'm curious, what programming were you looking for?

That Phase III is next to useless for FTA... it is undersized, has the wrong type of LNBFs (circular instead of linear), and has a built-in switch which only works properly with DirecTV receivers.

For Ku FTA, you'll need at least a 30" dish with a linear Ku LNBF.

I aquired a Phase III dish and LNB from the dumpster and the only items worth keeping we're the attached coax cables.

Couldn't even sell the LNB on Ebay for $.99
