Tell me it "aint" so.

Thing is, I can think of a lot of scenarios where a legitimate setup could fail an audit while someone who is account stacking could pass. Doesn't make it fair to those who do nothing wrong.

For example...I have a relative with a cabin in what is almost the middle of nowhere. No phone or internet service is available. But somebody is only there a few days out of the week. If they wanted to audit it when nobody was there, what would happen? Granted, it's not very likely as they have only two receivers.

Yet someone who does account stack could text message the necessary information without them even knowing.

It seems like they are using a flawed system which can result in unfairness to customers - and that's not a good way to do business.

No one is defending the DISH AUDIT NAZIS. But that being said , that is the way DISH does business. They suffered losses due to account stacking and failed security smart card systems over the past. This is the way they have decided to rectify these past mistakes. For every account that is stacking or sharing their accounts with family and friends, is less $$$ for DISH. I think that DISH should use the DISH com feature to confirm that all receivers are in the same house. That way there would only be calls to the sub if the DISH com reported that the receivers were not all connected. For all I know that is what they are already doing. So for all who don't want a call , keep your receivers plugged in to the phone or internet.

part of that statement is really not true. for most 'stackers', the reason is for lower cost. or to help out a relative. if they weren't stacking, they wouldn't have service at all. so by that thinking Dish is making money. not much, true. but even $7-14 is better then $0.

Repoint to 129 = big problems
