TBS HD no more stretch-o-vision

Looks like TBS-HD is no longer doing the stretch-o vision thing.Now when they go to commercial the black borders show up.They use to not do that.Maybe they are following now in the footsteps of ESPN..

Now if TNT-HD will follow.Maybe this will end the upconverting.Id rather it be TRUE HD or no HD at all.

They can stretch the commercials all they want. I dvr everything and never watchd live tv, so I skip commercials.

I believe TBS was using licensed technology for the strech-o-vision. Perhaps. TBS didn't want to renew the license. Let's hope that is the case.

I noticed this too when I was watching Friends. I was trying to see if it was still stretched and I couldn't tell. I know that Seinfeld was re-formatted to HD, King of Queens and Everyone loves Ray have HD native episodes. What is still stretched?

Much. My Name is Earl was still stretched and upconverted last night. I could care less if they stretch commercials. Stop stretching programming.

Thats weird. They show The Office in HD (which took them a while) so I wonder why they aren't showing Earl too.

To not have been filmed in HD, I have to admit that Seinfield looks great in the 16:9 format!
