SXM still giving discounts

Glad I paid $300 many years ago for a lifetime subscription. As if I had to pay for it now I wouldnt subscribe anymore.

The quality has gone way down hill.
what quality??? the audio quality. that's always been a topic of concern though the xm side aways had the better quality between the two and sxm had stern back in the days but lousy audio quality. the talk channels are complete sh*t when it comes to the audio quality!!!

They lost me 15 years ago. I have not missed them one bit.
why pay for it when you can make thumb drives up and have better audio quality and not having to loose signal weather it be using the app or a radio??? plus i can play what i want when i want and not what someone chooses for me and with no dj's free of charge. i don't miss it. i sure in the hell am not going to miss the rate the yearly rate game. if they can give discounts then why in the hell can't they lower rates so we dont have to keep calling in and playing the rate game???

My main gripe about SiriusXM is all of the single artist and payola channels. If they want to have them, fine, but make them streaming only and bring back the exiled channels to the main line up.

Single artist channels:

18 - The Beatles
20 - Bruce Springsteen
22 - Peal Jam
23 - Grateful Dead
29 - Phish
30 - Dave Mathews Band
31 - Tom Petty
32 - U2
76 - Elvis

Why???

Plus the ones the payola channels for Kelly Clarkson, Christ Stapleton, Pitbull and countless others.

To get this list I'm looking at the online music player, I see Lady Googoo has a channel now, and channel 2 is something called Unwell Music with a description of 'Daddy's Unwell Soundtrack'. What in the hell is that supposed to be/even mean? Nevermind, I probably don't want to know.

I'll stream some of the Xtra channels at work, but they get repetitive. Today was Hard Attack and Level Up.

I still buy single tracks for songs I like on Amazon for $1.29 a pop. Sometimes I like listening to 'radio' and sometime II like listening to the collection I've built up with iTunes, Google Play and Amazon. Depends on what I feel like at any particular moment.

I'll agree with you on that!!!

talked em down to 77.00 for a year of the platinum package :clapping :). they wanted me to pay 30.00 a month plus the activation fee. i told em to go screw like the rep said i have been a sub since 2007.

I was able to get Sirius XM in two cars @ $99 for 3 years. Here's the link:
Unfortunately, that didn't work on-line for my XC60:

They did offer a $4/mo deal for one year which is $1/mo better than the mailers they've been sending me.

But maybe I should try Mrs. Foxbat's Regal when it comes up for renewal in a few months. In the meantime I stream through the app using her account.

That also happened to me on my 2024 Model S. I had to call 2-3 times until someone let me do it. It was a pain, but worth it since it was on $99 total for the 3 years. At the same time I added it to my Jeep Wrangler for $120 for the 3 years. That also included 3 years of traffic for the navigation. I was on the phone for about 45 minutes to get both vehicles done.

If the link doesn't work, call in and ask for the deal. It took me a few tries but someone finally gave it to me.

I have this also on one vehicle. I didn't look at the link, but there was no auto renewal for what I got. The vehicle did have to be a certain age or older, I believe, too.

I got mine renewed for $3.18 a month for 3 years ($99 for 3 years) on two newish vehicles. See below for details!

I let the subscription run out on my 21 Honda Ridgeline truck and my Wife's trial on her 25 Lexus ran out. I tried to get a deal better than $6ish a month before they expired, but they wouldn't budge.

I waited a few weeks. We got phone calls, which we ignored and then we both got offers for $5/month in the mail. I also saw the 3 years for $99 that others posted here (yes I realized that it was supposed to be for older vehicles).

I got their chat on the Sirius site today (3/27/25) and immediately got an offer of about $9 per month. I told him that I had $5/month offers in-hand and also others had told me about a 3 years for $99 offer. He asked me which one I wanted. I, of course, said $99 for 3 years. He immediately said "OK" and offered me their Music and Entertainment package for $3.18 a month/per vehicle for 3 years. Yes, that price included Taxes and fees. I took it and the transaction was complete in a few minutes!!!!

I thought that it was a basic stripped-down package, but it looks like I get it all. Music, Entertainment, Howard Stern, NFL, MLB, etc. I also get streaming.

I'm not sure if they are trying to make numbers for the end of the quarter, they see I've been a long-time subscriber or I just got a great CSR, but the deal was all done in about 15 minutes online!

Best of all, I don't have to go through this again for 3 more years!

If any of you are paying more than $10 a month (actually about $5-$6) you should run to cancel and see what deal you can work with them. the $24.99 stuff is, literally, robbery. Just tell them you want to cancel. Don't take their first offer, let them escalate to a senior CSR. Oh yeah, I was extra polite with the rep. and gave him an outstanding review. Of course, YMMV!

You probably got a great csr. I also think there trying to keep there qoutas up for there share holders to.

Verizon, t-mobile, whatever, there are places, even on major interstates in the US that are dead. As someone who travels surface roads frequently throughout the Southwest I know all too well. SXM on the other hand has zero dead spots other than in congested cities where buildings and other terrestrial objects block satellite signals line of site as expected.
Thru the mountains will also occasionally have dead areas.

Q. Why would the "Newer Vehicle" matter to them ?

Fwiw, I think I pay about $12 a month, and I'm OK with that ...
Actually, I think I did Better than that this year, I was around there the last few years.

I think they told me I don't have to call in next year and they will give me the same price, but I don't know for sure or have that in writing, I don't want to lose it all, while wondering if I have to re up.
