Switch question

The new switch arrived from the Czech Republic the other day. Finally had time to install it tonight. Impressed with it so far. Now running 87, 89, 91, 95, 97, 99, 103 and 105 on this assortment of dishes

PS- have discovered the GSP 1.2m dish handles multiple offset LNB's very well.

Very nice.. Out of curiosity mathematically what is the smallest # of dishes you could make that work with and cover the whole spectrum? I think two if I figured it correctly? Because of spacing:
Dish #1- 87, 91, 95, 103
Dish #2- 89, 97, 101 (is there anything there?), 105, 113 (if you wanted to add it?)

Or is that too wide of a range?

Also where did you get your brackets/bracket extension? eBay?

I think that beyond 8-10 degrees from center, the signal starts degrading too much, and 113 is not strong to start with, so Dish 2 would be tough if 113W is included

Now, this is a good coverage but far from covering the entire spectrum

I agree with Brct203. 10 degrees is the max I would go.

Personally, I am not trying to cover the whole spectrum, but only the NA sats that have the most amount of wild feeds.

You need to wait until danristheman chimes in on that. What he does receiving multiple sats with his single fixed 1.2m dish is nothing short of amazing.

Based on my experience, it's possible to receive multiple sats MUCH farther apart than you'd think. The base secret is to have the "lowest powered" sat aimed for the center lnb, and have the higher power sats on the sidecar lnbs.

Indeed. 99W is the focal point of my 1.2m, wirh 89, 95 and 105 being the side lobes

I think this may have been true back when most feeds were DVB-S, but with DVB-S2 it's much more difficult. I have a 10-degree spacing between 89 and 99 on the 1.2m, and if 89 were any further off-center I wouldn't be able to tune the BYU TP.

I started out with with ku first on my 1 meter. I put the c band lnb on my 1 meter 2014 i got lesea channels, pr vi mux, krbk, Casper Wyoming nbc channel. Then i went up to a 4 footer i got a little bit more on channels not much. Start out with c band in the middle then ku on the side. You can sidelobe a c band lnb it will it work. Go to your hardware store and get pvc and metal pipe hangers those work the best for lnb mounts plus they can hold up in the cold.
