Sun Sports and Bright House Networks are bringing 10 high-definition telecasts of Tampa Bay Lightning games to area cable subscribers starting next week.

The first locally produced HD telecast is scheduled for Oct. 5, when the Tampa Bay Lightning begin their season at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa.

The defending Stanley Cup Champion plan to celebrate their championship and raise the banner inside the arena.

Subscribers with HD service from Bright House Networks in Central Florida and the Tampa Bay area will have access to the 10 HD Tampa Bay Lightning games this season, as well as 10 HD Orlando Magic games, a release said.

Bright House Networks is offering the HD telecasts in these Florida markets as part of a national high definition alliance among the Fox regional sports networks. Collectively, the Fox-owned and managed regional sports networks are offering a total of nearly 175 local NHL and NBA games this season, providing approximately 525 local hours of HD programming, a release said.

Sun Sports' HD Tampa Bay Lightning and Orlando Magic telecasts will be offered on Bright House Networks Channel 1000 in Central Florida and Channel 540 in the Tampa Bay area.
