Hi all, newbie here !!!! first post.!!!!!

Need some help. What do you think, subsribe now to HD Absolute or go turbo later?

1- Will HDA be grandfathered in and for how long

2- Will new Aug 1st HD channels be added to HDA

3- Would it be better not to Commitment for 2 yrs. and see which way it goes? for now and after Fed 09.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Gnars: Scott would probably be the one most qualified to comment on these but 2 years down the road is an eternity in this business. I'm generally happy with Dish and really like their DVRs but what will be going on two years from now is hard to say. The coming digital conversion will be a big yawn for me with an OTA feed into the 722 and locals from Dish to boot.

Its better to go HDA now because if you want it later you can't get it.

You can always go turbo or whatever in the future but HDA will be unavailable if you don't already have it.

Example.. the golf channel ala carte was a $4.99 add on, but wasn't offered stand alone when they went to the last package names about 2 yrs ago, but if you had it stand alone you kept it.

1. Yes, till 02/01/09. 2. Yes, No....but not premiums, unless you already have the premiums{HBO. CM. SHO. ST} 3. New acct will pay $50 upgrade for VIP722 after 07/31/08.

If you have any old SD receivers, do it now. I was talking with my neighbor the other day (she works for Dish) and she said they've been told in the training that they will not be allowed to have any SD receivers active on the new Turbo packages. I'm guessing that means that they will no longer provide the SD versions of the HD channels in the new packages.

Multi-sports pack is availabe for $6 as an add on to any package that already includes your local RSN. So, this would apply to Silver and Gold, but not Bronze.

Hopefully in the Turbo HD packages as well. Up to this point I have only seen the one package without any RSN. Now it says you get the RSN with Turbo Silver or Gold. It doesn't say you can add the Multi=sports pack. It says you get your regional sports network(s).
