77 will probably be mostly locals. They want everyone pointing at it so in the future they can put locals on it without having to worry about people not being able to see them when they move. There are a lot of markets that do not fit the 61.5 spot beams very well. If they have a nice new spot on 77 that covers that market, they want to be able to move the locals to 77 without having everyone screaming that they lost their locals all the sudden.
Right now the satellite is a CONUS one that points South to avoid interference with Canadian DBS providers. When the new satellite is in place it will be able to have spot beams that point to the DMAs in the Northern US without spilling over into Canada. So, people in the NE for example that cannot get 77 now, may have spot beam coverage in the future.
