Tried to get my wife to watch SG-1 with me tonight. She refused. She will watch ST:TNG and DS9 but has no concept or understanding of SG-1. I have failed.
Perhaps have her watch the movie instead of the series first?
She only liked Star Trek because I DID, she just doesn't get SG-1, and doesn't have enough interest to try to watch. I know, I know, sad.. but such is life.
......And even Star Trek freaked her out when we went to a Star Trek board game party years ago, and everybody showed up in costume.

I think it's the extra X chromosone... I have a friend who loves SG1 and her daughter is getting into it also...I have no patience for slapstick or stupid comedies.
I know I am in the minority with the women I know because I like all of these things. I think I got it from my dad. He was also the one that sent me in the direction of computer programming way back when. Hubby did not want to watch until he accidentally saw the movie one weekend. By that time we were on year 8 of the series. Now he has watched it many times over.
On the other hand, I have no patience for slapstick or stupid comedies.
And Joe is right -- Season 2 and 3 are really just spectacular. Every episode is well done and compelling.
There are a couple so-so episodes in those 2 seasons, but the rest really are just terrific. You just don't find tv that good anymore...especially the way Syfy has gone down the tubes.
