Stargate SG-1 Discussion

Caprica gone. SGU gone. Will stick around for Sanctuary and Warehouse 13 (and anxiously awaiting the Galactica spinoff), but that is it. Ghost hunters? Blech. Wrestling? Why is that even here? I keep waiting to hear about an alien punching out of a wrestler's chest....

For me it is down to W13 and Eureka. Sad and pathetic. :(

It is sad. I used to have a block timer for 4 hours on Friday on Scifi, plus some individual show timers. Now with syfy W13, Eureka and SGA. I watch 1/10 or less of what I used to on Scifi.

I bought each season as it was released, which was before they had BD sets...repurchasing the sets again in BD seemed an indulgence I can't afford...

We just can't bring ourselves to indulge in buying the same thing again even though we have watched this series more than any other. We did not start buying them early on though. I will not let hubby live down the fact that when it first came on I couldnt get him to watch it. It was years later when he saw the original movie and then he finally wanted to see it.

Saw the original movie, then the series started on Showtime. They originally started the "Sci-fi Friday" moniker, with their line-up of Stargate-SG1 and The Outer Limits (new originals) on Fridays. I was hooked. :)

It works well with Sam with dark hair and a British accent, I think. When Michael Shanks guested in one episode, his character commented on her dark hair. It was pretty funny. ;)

Well I forgot I watch that show too, but as with all syfy now it seems that they just make a few episodes and show them rarely.

Just watched the 2010 / 2001 episodes. Science fiction at it's best.

Agreed. The scenes in 2001 where they're negotiating with the Aschen probably mirror the unseen backstory in 2010, only this "time" they're not happening on the Aschen homeworld.

A clever gimmick in 2001 was the old Volian newspapers language offset by one letter alphabetically to make it look like a foreign language.

It was like watching Columbo. The audience knows what's going on, we want to see how SG1 figures it out in time and deals with it.

Agreed. Just good stuff. Episodes I can watch over and over.

Yesterday I pulled out season 1 and started watching the show from the beginning. A way to provide some entertainment this summer. :)

I have a Stargate folder on an external I use with my WDTV, right now I only have favorites from the seasons I have on it (converted to mkv's) plus the BD movies also converted, I will probably end up with a Stargate EHDD with all the series on... (the Stargate folder is a sub folder in a Scifi folder with SGA's, SGU's & Sliders...) I just recently re-watched the updated "Children of the Gods" again a few weeks ago.
