So they cut off part of the picture to show it the way they did.
The show was made in 16:9 format is that is the original aspect ratio. At least that's the way it aired the in Indy the frist time around.

I guess different local stations had varying OTA quality during the initial run. The PQ in Seattle improved towards the end but the first few years left room for improvement. This is the best PQ I've seen for this series.
I watched the first episode on HDnet and was quite disappointed about the HD quality of the program. I guess no fault of HD (although at HD Lite mode) but this program either was not shot in a very great HD camera atmosphere or the HD transfer was not that great either. Comparing this to Lucas' film that was shot in HD and others is like night and day. I will still watch but I know what to expect now.
I can't say I'm disappointed (except in the HD Lite aspect)...I watched the entire 4 seasons in SD, so this is a bonus to me.
I watched on my X1 instead of my HD set last week and it really looked good as it does not show true HD resolution... will watch the second half this weekend...
The dry-rub shower scene was quite impressive in HD even though it was a gratuitous way to try to get new viewers! 
I believe that was a decon chamber scene. Not that the title of the scene makes any difference at all.

:T'pol is quite a babe... One reason to watch it (even if you don't like the bad HD transfer or enterprise).
Yeah, I saw the first/pilot episode for Enterprise recently and I found that i liked it. I'd like to be able to see them from the beginning though instead of jumping in the middle of them and such..
You've only missed about five or six episodes. Maybe download them from the internet. You can easily catch up.
I enjoyed this week's episode. Archer's universal translator fails, so he falls back upon the kiss the hot alien ruse.
A good line from last night's episode:
