I think it's stupid. They already have so much money in Wimax and have a decent head start on coverage over Verizon's LTE (not even going to mention AT&T or T-Mobile because they are just flat out lying about 4G - they don't have any, they just renamed their 3G to 4G), why would they want to start over yet again?

Wouldn't it make more sense to create Wimax/LTE capable phones and strike roaming agreements? That's what they're doing now with CDMA/EV-DO and it works great.
