Special Retailer Chat Recap - February 14, 2013

I think Scott meant to write "doubt their current provider" and therefore switch. Peculiar wording even then.
Yes... like "Why cant my current provider do this? I want that maybe I should switch to DISH!"

My thoughts on this is DISH has the Hardware now to be #1, but they still dont have the programming people want. They need to work on their sports offerings... no reason why a person in Connecticut can't watch the UCONN Huskies, NY Yankees or the METS. Its their missing programming that and public fights about programming that is causing people not to want DISH.

Wow using the

Though not if I am forced to pay more money with a fee like Direct is now starting to do... That's why (and I admit it's getting old) sports has to be separate....

Yep, when we had DISH my wife and I were asking ourselves why can't DISH provide channels like Disney Jr or our true locals in HD when the other providers in our area offer it? I know the locals in HD thing is due to lack of space on the spotbeam but there's no excuse as to why they couldn't offer Disney Jr.

Except until recently Direct TV did not have several channels in HD that Dish did. So you could make the same claim about Direct TV.... Even Charter does not have a couple channels we do watch on Dish in HD....

But isn't that because of the current Dish/Disney lawsuit?

No talk on programming.

They are going over the Hopper upgrade option for existing customers... $100 to upgrade to a Hopper with Sling... $50 to upgrade to a Gen 1 Hopper...

That's my point though about DISH getting into a pissing match with the content providers. Customers don't like seeing that, at least the customers I know who have DISH.

i wish that Dish and Disney lawsiut will eventully gets settled so we can get those channels back in HD.

somebody @ dish ran the numbers..they found they make more money with fewer customers and no sports than with more customers and plenty of sports
