I voted HD DVD, no reason to spend more and get less.
I guess you haven't seen the prices on those new combo discs yet?

As I state in all of my posts, I am neutral. Both formats have advantages and disadvantages. I love my Toshiba, and I also love my Panasonic. I would never use a gaming system for a player.
I just want to enjoy my HD.

SCRATCH RESISTANT!!!
Yep, that's why I only Netflix Blu-rays now.
Well that gaming system is the best BD player on the market FYI
At the time wasn't the only comparison the Samsung? That would be really week if the sony standalone wasn't better then the PS3.read the reviews. nuff said
I'm sorry, but i dont understand
I gather he's saying he has no problems with scratches on rented BDs, but has with HD-DVD.
Acutally, I think he means that since BD is very hard to scratch it is very easy to rent and know that the movie is going to play okay. That is my read on it.
this is what i really think i think soooner or later the market is going to see that hd dvd pq is way better than bd pq and for a cheaper price its a steal. and then sooner or later all the major studios that are not with hd dvd are all going to join up with hd dvd
its like the saying goes if u cant beat im join him ,:up
more FUD? You just never stop do you?Ohhh, so HD-DVDs are easily scratched?
