If anyone knows a qualified installer near (or willing to travel to) the Central Kentucky area, please drop me a PM with contact information. I have already filled out the form on Dish's site, got in contact with the installer they assigned, had everything worked out, but issues came up that prevent them from doing the job. I've reached back out to Dish for another contact, but haven't gotten anything.

If only you were closer and had time to wait. Some of us have been talking about putting a Comercial team together with Smart Box training

Well, we may be waiting if only because we can't find anyone to do the work. :shh If you get the team together, holler back and I'll let you know if we're still in the market. :biggrin

Okay fellas, what is 'smart box'?
Imagine a rack system with 20 211's, each one supplying 1 channel combined to feed multiple televisions/Rooms/Apartments/Trailers, etc over coax without a receiver at each TV.. That's extremely inefficient but I see those systems still in places like Health Spas, etc.

A smart box is about the size of a large Microwave with "Blades" or PC Cards that can each run 8 TV's with a full spectrum of channel packages over Coax making it much more efficient and using a fraction of the space and energy as that rack system.

Wonder why DISH didn't have something like that for homes!

It would be overkill, however, the Dish Fiber project, one of the applications for Smart Boxes could potentially be used in subdivisions to provide Video/Internet services to each home from one central dish/headend located out of site or off to a remote part of the subdivision

Wouldn't be neat if there was a super Hopper that would let you subscribed to all the apps you want and it could save the programs you want to keep to its hard drive! I think it would run smoother than streaming.

Because it would be too easy for several homes in a subdivision to setup multiple homes on one subscription. ;)
Ive seen neighbors trench holes in there yards and running clients over to there neighbors homes and splitting the bills... I seen em doing the same thing with there internets also:shh..You would figure that satellite co's would have a way to track these people down as it's outright theft of services!!!
