The Boilermaker State (#19)
This has happened a few times, when it happened yesterday I decided to see if it has happened to anyone else. Yesterday I listened to my JVC receiver on the way home from work, I then took it into the house and put it in the cradle of the home unit. About 20 minutes later I turned it on and it didn't sound right. The music was slow, I mean real slow, as in taking a 45rmp record and playing it on 33. I then turned off the power, lifted the unit out of the cradle for a few seconds, put it back and turned it on. Everything was normal. This has also happened when I have left it off in the truck all day, then turned it on while drivng home, same remedy, turn it off, put it out, turn back on. Why is this happening?

Maybe heat related  If you have the older large JVC that thing gets super hot. Maybe its causing the problem.

I haven't seen that issue but my Sportster IR gets so hot that the display fades to a point of barely being readable.

I have to use my defroster (with cold air) as a counter measure.

I plan on hard-mounting the unit in front of one of my A/C vents to keep it cool. This sucks because in the summer in Phoenix it's hot as heck and you want all the A/C you can get on you.

I don't know what size a large one is, but mine is about 2.5in wide, 4in high and an inch thick, JVC Model KT-SR 2000. And I believe you guys are right, I got it for Christmas and I don't remember this happening until the weather heated up, and it's been pretty mean here the last couple of weeks. The unit it self gets pretty hot after extended use. Is that normal? Thanks.
