Server Overload

After a few issues today, I did some more tweeking of things.

Now the speed is not too bad and we have over 3,500 people online as I write this, which is about 1,500 more then usual.

Ok as I type this there are 4,200+ people online and the server still feels very zippy to me.

I am VERY happy with the performance at this time.

Not sure what the issue was but it took 20 seconds or so for me to get the main page to load abd then to get the forums to load took about 10 seconds with the template hanging on the left side tabs.

The flags are what seems to be lagging the page load, everything else loads quick except for the flags and the auto sizing of the forums list.

Now that the users numbers are going down (allthough still very high) the system seems to be back to normal.

I will be doing some work to the server on Sunday Morning, the server will be offline for a few hours.

Wow, I just got a new wireless modem card and my first page load went down to less than 2 minutes and I was happy! Having trouble at 20 seconds? I would dream.... Oh, yes, the old card was bad, I took 7 minutes to log on before. And I could only get about three pages before I had to reboot the modem.. Cellular wireless dial-up modems are slow. I hope I was not slowing the whole process down!
