SatelliteGuys.US DishNetwork Uplink Activity Discussion - Week Ending 10/06/2007

Meerkat Manor is hd and I think there has been a movie in hd on the Animal Planet. I think that has been it though.

Charlie already stated that he is not going to add HD channels that have no programming in HD (such as the 3 you mention).

There is a ton of HD on USA. At least as much as TNT but without the annoying stretch-o-vision on the SD content.

New episodes of Law & Order CI are supposed to show on NBC sometime after they premier on USA. Kind of the reverse of the way it used to be. I'm guessing they'll show up on Saturday nights or maybe Sunday after football?

Digi. Does the ppv hd and the NHL Center Ice hd have anything to do with each other?? I notice earlier that one of the ppv were off the air until games were over. It was channel 542 which is not there now.

I was hoping that they might be using the HDPPV channels as place holders for expansion of at least one of the movie packs . But I thought it would only be possible on a 9 day turn around. If someone placed an order and paid for a movie that was 1 week out on the guide they would reasonably be upset if the channel no longer existed as a pay for view at the time of the scheduled recording.

Why not he carries A&E HD and History Channel HD. I dont think I have seen any HD from Animal Planet yet eaither.
Charlie wouldn't know how to make a truthful statement if his life depended on it.

For example: NESN is basically ALL HD, 24/7 and he didn't pick it up as an RSN because it has too much HD. He wanted to carry just the games in HD and SD for the rest and they (understandably) wouldn't hear of it.

So which is it Charlie.

Hrmm. I dont want to defend but I have to. There is a difference between an HD RSN only on-air during a game and a national network on 24/7 with limited HD content. You can uplink multiple RSNs for the same bandwith as a single national if you're just broadcasting a single 3 hour event every other day.

Then how do you explain the Big 10 network?
