SatelliteGuys.US DishNetwork Uplink Activity Discussion - Week Ending 09/29/2007

Should.... but it doesn't. Covers the majority of AZ except for the upper northwest corner.

Are Dish's spotbeams on 119 that much narrower than DirecTV's? I get all of the Ku beams for Southern California, Arizona, and Utah at 100 signal strength.

Yep.... much tighter beams. You'd be surprised how packed Echostar10 is.

They also do in Seattle but Dish doesn't. Down here in Portland Direct didn't have a couple of HD retrans for the longest time.

It's not out of the realm of possibility.

It's more than out of the realm, try out of the coverage area.

I wonder if they are truely running at 8PSK 5/6 on that AZ 110W spotbeam. Could be a test of things to come on the national HD's once E11 is up and running. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't that yield close to an additional 10 megabits of bandwidth on the TP?

Upgrading rx/Returning Old Equipment?
