SatelliteGuys Cruise

We had such a good time on this past cruise. Hopefully Voyager6 will chime in and let us know his review of things. I hope he felt like a winner on this trip.

Thanks to everyone for 10 great years.
As you can tell from the pictures that we've been posting, we had a fantastic cruise. Scott and Eva were fabulous hosts and my wife and I are extremely appreciative for every thing that they did for us. We were definitely WINNERS (except in the casino but Scott and Eva have no control over that).

There were many highlights to this cruise. Among them was the Cirque Dreams and Jungle Fantasy Show. This is a definite must see. The Rock of Ages show is also a must see. Don't take the kids to this one though.

Scott and Eva treated us to a private tour around Nassau. Scott picked out Greg from the many tour guides offering their services. Greg was an absolute gem. He was a wealth of knowledge about the Bahamas, Nassau and US history. Our two hour tour lasted well past three hours. He took us to many non-tourist areas to give us a feel for life in Nassau including where he grew up. Along with viewing all the historical sites in Nassau, he stopped where ever we asked. We hit a local grocery store for sodas and water. He also sat and chatted with us while we had a beer near Ft. Fincastle. When the tour was over, Greg dropped us off at Senor Frogs for lunch and some liquid refreshments. Nassau was a great day for all of us.

At Great Stirrup Cay, NCL's private island, Scott and Eva had reserved a small cabana. Here we were treated to drinks and snacks. The water at GSC was gorgeous and I certainly enjoyed swimming in it for a couple of hours. I think that I finally thawed out from this winter after a long soak at GSC. Scott and I talked for a long time about SatGuys and Dish and some other things while floating in the warm Caribbean waters. Definitely a great day.

We were also treated to dinner in several of the specialty restaurants on the Breakaway. Cagney's, I thought, was the best followed closely by Moderno and Teppanyaki. The chef in Teppanyaki was pretty funny and put on a good show.

The Breakaway is beautifully decorated and BIG. It was the largest ship that we've been on. The public spaces did feel crowded at times especially the casino. The entertainment was very good and music was everywhere. Unlike Carnival, which has severely cut back on musicians, NCL had quite a few on board playing on deck, the Atrium and in the lounges.

I just touched on a few of the many highlights of this cruise. NCL has a good product and we would definitely cruise them again. Scott and Eva treated us royally and we cannot thank them enough for this adventure.

Who knows... this is the second cruise we have done. For the first one we had Don Landis and Ilya and for the second one we just had Voyager6 and his wife. People say they want to go but never do. And I am not even trying to make money on these cruises which is why you can book through your own travel agent.

I think anyone who has cruised with me before can attest to the fact that I take very good care of my guests on these cruises. :D

The next one we do will be out of Florida. There are two new ships coming and both sail from there. My wife likes going on the new ships. I myself LOVED the Breakaway. It was the first NCL cruise that we actually enjoyed. Everything about it was top notch!

Id definetely be in but I'd need 6-9 months heads up first. I'd personally prefer a 4-5 night cruise as I'd be going solo (paranoid GF refused to go on a cruise), as being away from the kid would be tough.

Cheers, K

See that Purple Waterslide...

That's the one I got stuck in...

Was cruising down nice and fast and then nothing... was stuck in the middle! Had to scoot the rest of the way out while worrying they would send someone down kicking me in the back. Luckily I made it out we seconds to spare.

Besides the Carnival Pride, we also were visited by the Explorer of the Seas. They were anchored right next door to GSC.

Don't know was going down nice and fast and then my clothes just stuck to the tube and I stopped. It was strange because I was going to fast and then just stopped.

After a bit of research, I conclude there’s no indignity in being stuck in a waterslide as it appears to be a common occurrence.

Here’s a bit of reading material.
