Satellite Installer Job - scam or not?

Thanks for the info freddy on the cell phone. I have a somewhat decent plan with Cingular. Its only 500 mins anytime so I might have to up that. Although I do have lots of roll over mins that are stock piled right now.

No wobbie, I'm in the upper east TN area, but if this doesn't work out you can't never tell where I might end up. I'm just about to give up on getting decent employment here in my area. Thanks for the tips on the insurance. I made some calls yesterday and have a couple of agents gathering quotes. I'll post back the results of them.

I get all my supplies through perfect 10, www.perfect10.com. That have a good selction. They offer a Digisat III meter that is awesome with E*'s DP switches. You can hook to a dp head and switch between sats without having to remove your meter or use a single LNB. It costs about $95. When I started this, I got my supplies through the company. Now I get them on my own and save money. And keep track of everything. Tax deductions are important. I deduct my dish bill, cell phone, PO Box, etc. Anything that you use for your business(and your TV bill is since you have to know how your product works). Good Luck.

Hehe, I think you meant www.perfect-10.tv for the URL to Perfect 10. Some good merchandise on the URL you posted there Larry, but not exactly what I'm needing right now.

Thanks for the info though on the Digisat. I'll definately have to look into that.

Be sure to understand that the insurance is not just for damage that can occur while driving your truck, but to cover you for damage that can occur to the customers home while performing the installation.

I'm sure you already understood that, but wanted to clarify while you are out checking on pricing.

Basically all subcontracted installers are completely liable for any mistake or even irrationally upset customers. The DN company will leave you high and dry during any litigation.

----actually https://www.perfect-10.tv/homepage/homepage.aspx and not the site listed in the link above.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
True Larry The only problem is if he is not a tech or a dealer he cant use the P 10 site.:) :yes

Really Larry are you looking at both of those websites at the same time !

ROFLOL :D

Yeah yeah, SO I was tired and forgot the address.....See, I am right here near the WV line, and girlie bars are just a drunken ride away. Anyway, it isn't too hard to become a dealer for them, and that way you can save money instead of getting supplies from someone who will mark them up...........

You also might want to look into a good health and disability policy. Talk to an independent agent, some of these policies will cover you at work or play and alot of times are less expensive then workers comp. Voomer, who or where do you purchase your cable from. I like those prices.
