There are many that are not filled with bloatware.
Maybe I’ve just been unlucky. I always buy my phones from my carrier and every single Android phone I’ve had has come loaded with so much garbage it took me days to remove it all.
I have never bought a smart phone through a local carrier, you know with two year contract and all, maybe that is why. When a new phone comes out I think I like from the reviews and such I just order one and put my SIM card in it and reset and ready to go.

I'm completely new to this, I don't even have an Amiko box that's capable of streaming yet, but I'm looking for one. Would this work with an Amiko HD8260+ on DVB-C and also with encrypted channels? I need the CI+ support for my cable provider.

Personally, i think the best streaming STB's are the Enigma2's The Vu+ Zero 4K was a 4K unit that people were touting that was a 4K unit.
There is a limitation with the Amiko Sat2IP as they let you change channels about 10 times, and then you have to reboot the unit to start changing channels again. It was annoying if you wanted to channel surf. I believe any Amiko unit that supports the Sat2IP should work with the windows version.

Oh, that doesn't sound too good. There are many great boxes with DVB-S tuners at a reasonable price, but finding one that has a DVB-C tuner inside with a CI+ interface is not easy, also their prices are abnormal, that's mainly the reason why I wanted to go with Amiko's cheaper option.
I'm using a USB tuner at the moment with MediaPortal's web interface only for recording, but the cable provider I'm currently at is really bad, and the other provider I can choose encrypts their channels, so I can't use my current setup if I get rid of them. Do I have any other choice than buying a really expensive box?

What could be the problem?
I have an Amiko Mini Combo Extra and i don't know what happens . I started the server "Big2small" and it says the server started ok. When i start Sat2IP and insert the ip of Amiko, it's saying "Channels : OK" and it is showing the DVB-C channels i have on it (i use it as a cable receiver). When i select a channel and hit "Start", SMPlayer isn't starting and Sat2IP it's giving me error "SETUP: 503" at section "Amiko's last response". After I hit Stop, Sat2IP says on title bar "Stream Stopped" and at the section "Amiko's last response" it says "STOP: 454". How can i solve this situation? As OS I installed "AMIKO_Mini_Combo_Extra_RCA_1.3.63_emu". I tryed also "AMIKO_Mini_Combo_Extra_RCA_1.3.15_emu" and "AMIKO_Mini_Combo_Extra_RCA_1.1.67_emu". Older firmwares do not have the "Big2small server" option.

Hey there, i got your PM too, but ill respond here. As for the SMplayer not starting, make sure you let it install in the default location. Also, i would suggest installing the version of SMplayer that was specified at the beginning of this thread. Make sure you you get the SMplayer stuff working first. As for the errors returned, it might have to do with that its not detecting any software trying to initiate the stream.. Thats why i suggest getting SMPlayer working.
Also, even though i wrote the program, i have not used it in well over a year. I no longer use my Amiko STB. I wouldn't think amiko would change anything on the Big2small server, but then again, their might be subtle differences that might make it no longer work. There might be other users here that can chime in.
I can tell you when i originally programmed it, i ran a TCP sniffer program that i installed on the android so that i could watch exactly what the Android program was sending to the Amiko and what response were getting returned. I was then able to replicate that to make it work in this windows program. If the Big2Small android app still works and it hasn't been updated in years, then this program should work too.

Thanks for your answer. It's frustrating now that I'm trying to solve this since 5 days, now. The Android up is having the same issue. It's showing the chanels but it's not playing them saying that there is a server problem. Regarding SMPlayer, when i click the link you suggested, it is pointing me to the newest version of the program. So, what was the version of SMPlayer you were reffering when you started this thread? I already have it installed the wewest version of SMPlayer and it's not working. After, i uninstalled it and installed an older version, and still no result.

Well, if its doing the same thing on the android app, that doesn't encourage me at all. You might be out of luck, there might be some issue with that Amiko firmware. As for the smplayer, you should be able to do a google search for VERSION listed on the first few posts.. The smplayer usually has a site where you can download older versions.
Just FYI, I just tried and have this working on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS using WINE v4.0. I did not do anything special - just downloaded SAT2IP v1.3.38 and extracted it. Downloaded current SMPlayer (Version: 19.1.0 (revision 9191) (32-bit)), installed it using WINE and added the parameters (-demuxer +lavf -nocorrect-pts -mc 1) mentioned in the first post in this thread. Ran SAT2IP with WINE and entered the IP of my Amiko Mini HD SE. Receiver was found and the satellite/channel list populated. Selected a channel and it worked right off the bat. Pretty sure I recall this not working directly under Linux before unless I ran Windows in a Virtualbox. Attached is a screen capture (thumbnailed).
P.S. I found that if I resize SMPlayer or switch it to full screen during playback the window will resize but the video stays at the previous size. Stopping the stream playback (using SMPlayer stop button) and restarting it then sizes the video correctly. If you set your window size before starting a stream the video displays correctly. Not a big deal but wanted to mention it.

wow, nice to see it running on Ubuntu. I have the wife running Ubuntu to get familiar with it. Windows 7 will be the last Microsoft operating system i plan on running. I have another program i wrote that is running on Ubuntu too, but never tried the Sat2IP. As I'm sure you are aware of, my new project for the sat community is the DSRC.
