I’m trying to switch mom to satellite from her apartment building in nyc , but building does not allow outside antennas.
her windows face towards eastern arc ,but it’ll be too hard to get signal from all 3 sats. Would one sat dish be usable? Also what sat should I aim for?
im thinking of attaching antenna to metal pipe cemented on 5 gallon bucket.

Only 61.5 and 72 are needed these days for American channels. Can you get those two?

Well, you'll need a window large enough to "see" all the satellites you want. Also, you must not have any metal screen wire covering the window (it blocks signal).

All regular channels on EA are on 61.5 and 72.7, so unless you need the 77 satellite, two will do.

The only problem with the cement in a bucket is any movement of the bucket looses you all satellite reception - don't bump it with the vacuum.

would a tailgater antenna work? Or the playmaker?

Hello, all4jo. For both antennas, it would require the Wallys to receive any Eastern Arc signal.

For a Tailgater, you would need to have the Tailgator Pro or Tailgator 4, as they are the only models that will locate the 61.5 satellite along with the 119/110/129 Western Arc.

For a Playmaker, you would need the Playmaker 2 or the Playmaker Dual models with OS 2.1 or higher software. They will also locate the 61.5 along with 119/110.

Is there a way to upgrade the play make to get signal from 72.7?
I see that only 61.5, 110,119,129 are available.
