round dish, HD receiver

Will a round dish work with a HD receiver?
My neighbor just upgraded to HD service from dishnetwork at his home.
He has a cabin in the mountains with a standard round (not oval) dish. He took his new HD receiver to the cabin but can't get any service.
Is he doing something wrong or will it just not work?

Menu 6-1-1 run a check switch and he should get SD channels.

yes it will work. But it sounds like the switch setup is different between the two. When he gets to the cabin, do as boba posted
menu 6-1-1 then switch check. It will set up the receiver for the dish he has there

now note when he comes back he'll have to do the same thing.

Also what receiver is it? If its a dual tuner unit in most cases he will need 2 lines from the dish to the receiver

Umm...here's the big unanswered question: is it a dish from Dish Network. The only dish that was really round was the 300 (500 is still a little oblong). If it is a 300, it will only be single-sat, and the LNB is surely drifted by now
