I am wanting to purchase an external hard drive to use with my hopper.
What is the largest that I can use?
Are there any specific ones that work better with the hopper than the others?
Looking for advice as I am new to Dish and have never bought an external hard drive to use with any video service.
Thanks in Advance,

2TB is the upper limit, some say 3TB work, but I'd stay with the supported limit. Many of us use Western Digital Elements EHDs, they work great... It is important that you use a USB hard drive that is powered.

Thanks Bobby,
I don't think I would have made sure it was powered so that is what I needed to know. Will go look at newegg and see if they have anything.

I purchased a LaCie 2TB powered USB hard drive (Best Buy had it on sale for $119 a few weeks ago), and it couldn't be easier to use. I hooked it up to my Hopper and have been transferring movies without a hitch. It's a great addition.
