Question about upgrade

I have had DirecTV since 2002 and I am still using the old receiver. Next week, I am finally getting local channels, a new receiver with DVR, and a new dish.

I currently have only one cable going to my old receiver. When the installer installs a new dish, will he have to run an additional cable from the dish to my DVR so I can record 2 programs at the same time? Or does he just split the current cable at the DVR connection?

If he does need to run another cable, how will he do it? Will he connect the old cable to 2 new cables and pull it through the walls until the new cables pass through?

They will run two cables. I had a DVR installed last week and he had to run two cables.

he will probably drill another hole next to the old one and put a double wall plate on the wall, thats what i would do.
