What is his pay rate while "holding a clipboard" vs playing ?
Rich Gannon wasn't too shabby.

Yeah, I am not expecting them to have a QB as good as Gannon for some time. Someone must have had a man crush in KC to keep Grbac over him.
IMO the Raiders have peaked as far as how far they can go until they can get a strong and stable coach. Looked like maybe that would happen with Cable over time, but then suddenly beating all of your rivals twice doesn't mean you keep your job. There's no reason to expect anything less than 2-3 different HCs, maybe 4 different OCs over Pryor's 4 year contract. Just not a recipe for success or a 'commitment to excellence' as Al would put it.
He will be holding a clipboard for the next 2 years.

Three days later, still no Terrelle Pryor contract | ProFootballTalk
Not surprising, they are depleted at the LB after another season ending injury, he will have to wait....simple as that.
...or perhaps Terrell can play linebacker! Dude is athletic if nothing else...

Wouldn't he fall under the new rookie salary scale? If so, why the holdup?3 days later, the Raiders have yet to sign him.

Yes, and no idea. His agent also has a 3rd round pick who is a Raider... should have been a pretty quick deal. Pryor could be wanting more... Raiders might want to pay less... Raiders could be holding off so they can sign a LB and make other roster moves to free up cap space to sign him, etc.
Haven't read about any leaks leaning one way or another.
Yep. Going into the weekend, they were $5 million under the cap.
According to John Clayton: The five-game suspension of T. Pryor will cost him $100,294 of his $375,000 salary in 2011. He's not challenging that suspension.
Pryor's first game eligible to play? Cleveland Browns, Oct. 16th. Of course it is!!!
Just watching some talking heads discussing the suspension and explaining why Pryor should fight it. He would get paid during the appeal, and more importantly he would be allowed to get practice reps he would be barred from otherwise...
Pryor should count for less than ~$750k of the Raiders 2012 cap though depending on how it's structured, which is why I think there are people wondering why it isn't done.
